Referring to your Circular Despatch
of the 23rd. September, 1904, I have the honour to inform
you that copies of the Indian and Colonial Addendum to the
British Pharmacopoeia were forwarded through the agency of
the Hongkong and China Branch of the British Medical As-
-sociation to Doctors in Hongkong, Japan, and the Chinese
Treaty Ports, who were invited to furnish replies to the
questions contained in Dr. MacAlister's letter.
The result has been most unsatis-
-factory, only one response having been received, from Dr.
H. J. Hickin of Wei-Hai-Wei, a copy of whose letter I have
the honour to transmit for the information of the British
Pharmacopoeia Committee.
